[<em><a href=\"biblog\/?p=67\">Nicomachean Ethics<\/a><\/em>, Bk III, Chap 1., <a href=\"http:\/\/www.perseus.tufts.edu\/cgi-bin\/ptext?lookup=Aristot.+Nic.+Eth.+1110a+1\">(1110a1)<\/a>]<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Why is <em>this<\/em> a paradigm case of such acts? What is so special about a mother that wouldn&#8217;t also be true of a father or a daughter?<\/p>\n<p>Aristotle is clearly addressing virtue in <em>men<\/em>. Would a <em>woman<\/em> feel the same way about <em>her<\/em> most nightmarish case? What form would supreme moral outrage take for her?
